The slim shape is exactly what I needed for my trekking poles, they slide in without any wasted room. Tossed a couple shirts in it on a warm trip too and it packed down to nothing.

Bought this to hold my backpacking chair and it swallows the whole thing with room to spare. The slim shape slides right into a side pocket instead of bulging out like my old round sack did.

Finally, a stuff sack that doesn't waste space on my pack—the tall, skinny shape swallows my chair without bulging like a beach ball. I’ve also tossed a summer shirt and shorts in there and it cinches down neat as can be.
